Super health club phillip burgess
The last few months have been trying times for all of us but some of our club members managed to continue running by enjoying some of the Virtual running events on offer. Picture: (Neil and Simon crossing the finish line) In August Flo Wolfe took on the Canterbury 10k. Some of our runners decided to do a challenge to race on seven consecutive days. Great achievement by both runners also Simon’s first 100 mile completion.ĭuring the past weeks a few of our runners have done some virtual races. Simon Thompson came home in (25:44:42) closely followed by Neil Dawson (25:44:50). All three runners started well and were all fine at half way, unfortunately Nick Dawson had to pull out with an injury at 70 miles. A 100 mile long race along a flat course with some amazing scenery. The race starts in Richmond (London) and takes you along the Thames path and finishes in the centre of Oxford. This week three Burgess Hill Runners took on the ‘Thames Path 100 ’ by Centurion.

The other big event taking part was the rescheduled South Downs Way 50. Jonathan Herbert was first home for the Runners. On the Saturday a handful of Burgess Hill took part. The following weekend it was the turn of the Marathon and the 10k. They split the events over two weeks which meant the Half marathon took place on the 18th October. Due to the ongoing Pandemic at the moment, the race organisers and local authorities had to make some changes to make it safe. It is the end of October and the Beachy Head races are always a main feature this time of the year.
